Only what the reminders need.
Last updated October 10, 2026
Subsaver is a subscription tracker. You forward receipt and renewal emails to a private address, we read them to work out what you pay for and when it renews, and we remind you before the next charge. This page says exactly what that involves. It is written to be read.
Subsaver is operated by Michael Liebold, 3113 Wilshire Lane, Oakdale NY 11769. Questions go to hello@subsaver.io.
The short version
- We never connect to your bank, your card, or your email account. We only see the emails you choose to forward.
- We never store the text of a forwarded email, a pasted billing page or a screenshot. We read it, keep only the subscription details, and discard the rest.
- Bank and card statements you import are read on your device and never uploaded. Only the charges that repeat are sent to us.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or share it with anyone for marketing.
- Deleting your account deletes everything we hold about you. Resend's copies of forwarded emails expire within 30 days of receipt.
What we collect
Account. Your email address and the sign-in details you use with Clerk, our sign-in provider. We store your email address, a timezone, and your reminder settings.
Forwarded emails. When you forward an email to your Subsaver address we keep the sender, the subject, and the subscription details we extract from it. We also keep a one-sentence note from the extraction explaining its result. The sender, subject and note are removed 30 days after the email arrives, or once you have reviewed it if that is later. We keep the sender's domain on the subscription so we can match future emails to it. We do not store the text of the message, so anything else in it, such as card digits or a billing address, is never saved. Attachments are ignored.
Pasted text and screenshots. When you paste a billing page or upload a screenshot in the app, we read it once to extract the subscription details and then discard it. Neither the text nor the image is stored.
Bank and card statements. When you import a CSV or PDF statement, the file is read on your device and never uploaded. The app finds the charges that repeat and sends us only those, up to 100 at a time: for each one, the description as it appears on the statement, the amount, the currency, how often it repeats and the date it last charged. Your balance, account number, other transactions and the password of a locked PDF never leave your device. A subscription list you made yourself is read the same way, and only the rows you choose to add are sent. We keep the subscriptions you add, marking those found on a statement as imported, and a record of each import (its time and type) until you delete your account.
Subscriptions. The service name, amount, currency, billing cycle, next renewal date, trial end date and cancellation link that we extract from an email or that you type in yourself, plus any notes you add and a history of price changes we have spotted.
Phone number. Text reminders are not available yet. Once they are, and only if you turn them on, we store the number you enter, the time you verified it, and the time you consented. See the text messages section below.
Billing. Paid plans are handled by Clerk Billing. Clerk and its payment processor hold your card details. We only learn which plan you are on.
Waitlist. If you joined the waitlist before launch we hold the email address you entered, which page you joined from and the time you joined, and we use it to send one email when Subsaver is ready.
Logs. Our hosts keep standard request logs for a short time for security and debugging. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To build and keep your list of subscriptions.
- To send renewal and trial end reminders by email, and price change reminders on paid plans.
- To send a monthly digest of what you pay for and what renews soon.
- To apply the limits of your plan and to answer support requests.
We do not use your data for anything else. We do not build profiles, and we do not use forwarded emails to train any model.
How extraction works
The text of each forwarded email, pasted billing page or screenshot is sent to Anthropic, an AI provider, which returns the subscription details as structured data. Anthropic processes it under its commercial API terms and does not use it to train its models. For a screenshot, the image is first sent to Anthropic to read its text. We send only the sender, the subject, up to 20,000 characters of text and today's date. We add nothing from your account, but the forwarded email itself may include your name, email address or billing address. The text is held in memory while it is read and is not written to our database.
For a statement import, Anthropic receives only the repeating charges listed above, and returns which ones look like subscriptions, with a plain name and a category for each. It never sees the file. The charges are held in memory while they are read and are not written to our database. A subscription list you made yourself is not sent to Anthropic.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of providers to run Subsaver. Each one receives only what it needs for its job.
- Clerk: sign-in, account management, and billing.
- Convex: the database and backend where your subscriptions and settings live.
- Anthropic: reads forwarded emails, pasted text and screenshots and extracts subscription details, and sorts repeating charges from imported statements.
- Resend: receives forwarded emails and sends our reminder and digest emails. Resend keeps its own copy of a forwarded email for 30 days, which is what lets us read it again if the first attempt fails, and then deletes it.
- Twilio: once text reminders launch, verifies your phone number and sends text reminders, if you opt in.
- Cloudflare: hosts the website and app.
- Google Fonts: serves the app's font, which means it receives your IP address.
We do not share your data with anyone else, except if the law requires it or to protect the service from abuse.
If Subsaver is ever sold or merged into another company, your data would go with it, under this same policy or a stricter one. We would tell you before that happened.
How long we keep it
- The text of forwarded emails, pasted billing pages and screenshots is never stored by us. Resend deletes its copy of a forwarded email after 30 days. The sender, subject and extraction note of a forwarded email are removed 30 days after it arrives, or once you have reviewed it if that is later. The extracted details and the sender's domain stay on your subscription.
- Statement files are never uploaded, so we hold no copy of them. The repeating charges sent for sorting are not stored.
- Subscriptions, settings, price change history, import records and reminder history stay until you delete them or delete your account.
- Your phone number is removed when you turn off text reminders or delete your account.
- Waitlist addresses are deleted when you create an account, once the launch email has been sent, or sooner on request.
Deleting your account from Manage account in Settings removes your account, subscriptions, forwarded emails, price change history, phone number and reminder history straight away, and we send one email to confirm it. Nothing is kept in a soft deleted state. Resend's copies of forwarded emails expire within 30 days of receipt.
Text messages
Text reminders are not available yet. When they launch, they will work as described here. Text reminders are optional and off by default. To turn them on you enter your mobile number, tick a consent box, and confirm a code we text you. We send about one text per upcoming charge, between 9am and 8pm in your timezone, and nothing else. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop, or HELP for help. A STOP reply takes effect immediately.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with or sold to any third party, affiliate or lead generator for their marketing purposes. Your number is used only to send the reminders you asked for, through Twilio, which delivers them on our behalf.
Your choices and rights
- You can see and edit your subscriptions and settings in the app, and ask us for a copy of everything else.
- You can archive any subscription and dismiss any forwarded email at any time. Both are deleted with your account. You can delete your whole account from Settings.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data or for its deletion by emailing hello@subsaver.io. We will answer within 30 days.
- If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or a US state with a privacy law, you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to complain to your local regulator. We honor these for everyone, not only where the law requires it.
When you make a request by email, we confirm it came from the address on your account before acting on it. Someone you authorize can make a request for you if they show us your written permission. If we decline a request, we tell you why, and you can appeal by replying to that email. If the appeal is denied, you can complain to your state attorney general or data protection authority.
We do not sell personal information, and we have never done so. We do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling.
Security
The website and app set no tracking cookies and run no analytics, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to turn off. We treat every visitor as if they had sent one.
Data is encrypted in transit. Your forwarding address is a random string that is impractical to guess, and you can regenerate it at any time, which retires the old one immediately. The Keep and See everything links in reminder emails open the app, and you need to be signed in to see anything. The unsubscribe link works without signing in and can only turn off emails. The cancel link opens the service's own cancel page or a web search for its name.
If you turn on the calendar feed, anyone with its private link can see your upcoming renewals, with names and amounts, and so can the calendar app you add it to. You can replace the link or turn it off in Settings at any time.
Children
Subsaver is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has given us information, email hello@subsaver.io and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
